Netflix Loses 800K Subscribers In Third Quarter
While no business likes to lose 800,000 customers in the span of a few months, such a drop could pass for good news in the Netflix halls in these post price-hike days.
The company reported its U.S. subscriber ranks dropped to 23.79 million from 24.59 million the previous quarter. The losses weren’t quite as bad as Netflix’s earlier projections that it would lose 1 million customers.
Engadget reports 21.45 million of those customers subscribe to the streaming plan, while 13.93 million subscribers continue to get DVDs. Netflix also reported it lost more long-term customers than it expected.
