Bikini-Clad Walmart Shopper: I Was Booted From Store And Told I Was Violating Health Codes
A woman in Oregon says she’ll never shop at Walmart again after she was allegedly kicked out of the store for violating health codes by wearing a bikini top in the store.
The woman tells Eugene’s KVAL News that she and her sister were shopping at the W on Sunday and she was sporting a bikini top and shorts because of the 90-degree heat outside.
According to the woman, five minutes after entering the store an employee said she was violating health codes and that she needed to put a shirt on or leave. She tells KVAL that she and her sister were then escorted from the store.
“I hadn’t done anything obnoxious or outlandish,” she says.
Walmart disagrees.
A rep for the retail giant says that customers complained about the bikini-topped shopper and that she verbally abused people in the store. Furthermore, the rep says the shopper was never escorted from the store.
“We can understand her frustration. It was not our intent to offend the customer, and we have apologized to her,” the rep tells KVAL. “We have also reinforced with our associates our expectations of how to handle these matters.”
