Courts Allow NFL To Resume Lockout, Fewer Fans Watch Draft
Football fans, we hope you enjoyed that one full day last week in which the NFL followed court orders to rescind its lockout. Because the work stoppage is back on.
The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals granted the league its temporary stay of a Minneapolis judge’s injunction that forced it to end the lockout as it battled players in the courtroom and in negotiations. Deadline reports NFL fans may be losing interest in the off-field drama, because ratings for ESPN networks’ coverage of the draft plunged. The draft’s 6 million viewers were 1.3 million fewer than it drew for the 2010 event.
If you’re an NFL fan, did the labor dispute keep you from tuning in to the draft?
