Entenmann's Pop'Ems Recalled In Four States For Mold Concerns
Bimbo Bakeries doesn’t just have an amazing name, it’s also the company that makes, among other products, Entenmann’s donuts. Alas, Bimbo has had to issue a recall for three different varieties of both Entenmann’s Pop’Ems donuts and its Bimbo Donitas.
According to the FDA recall notice, the recalled donuts “may develop an uncharacteristic smell and become moldy.”
The company announced the recall after it received complaints of an unpleasant odor and temporary illness. Bimbo says the the potential for serious health problems is low, but some more sensitive consumers could experience temporary gastro-intestinal distress, including nausea and diarrhea.
At the bottom of this post are photos of the recalled donuts. Here is a chart detailing the products, states and UPC codes:
Additionally, the recalled products have the following dates stamped on the packaging:
May 11, 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26, 29, 2011
June 1, 2, 6, 2011
The company says that no other Entenmann’s or Bimbo products are affected by the recall.
If you happen to have some of these donuts, they can be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company 24 hours a day at 1-800-984-0989.
