Bing, Google Both Gain Search Engine Market Share As Yahoo Fades
Microsoft’s Bing continues to carve out a spot for itself in the search engine market, but it can’t seem to make up much ground against Google, which matched its gains from February to March, according to one report.
According to comScore, Google upped its U.S. search market share from 65.4 percent in February to 65.7 percent in March, while Microsoft sites edged up from 13.6 to 13.9, closing in on Yahoo, which slipped from 16.1 to 15.7.
The comScore data offers a counterpoint to Experian Hitwise findings that show Bing has surged above 30 percent of the market share in March, trailing Google’s 64 percent, which fell more than two points from February.
