Ikea Recalls Sniglar Cribs Over Possible Mattress Collapse Issue
Ikea has issued a recall for its Sniglar baby cribs after learning of a possible risk that the mattress support could collapse.
According to Ikea, some Sniglar cribs were shipped with bolts that were not long enough to extend all the way through the nut.
“If incorrectly assembled, the mattress support could detach and collapse, creating a risk of entrapment and suffocation to a child in the crib,” wrote the company in its recall statement.
If you are using a Sniglar for your child, you should check the bolts on the crib immediately. If the mattress support bolts extend through the nut, the bolts are the proper length and the crib is not included in the recall.
If the bolts do not extend through the nut, contact Ikea Customer Services at (888) 966-4532 for a free repair kit.
