Apply Now For A Seasonal Job

If you’re looking to pick up some extra cash this holiday season, around $10.60 an hour, the time to apply for a seasonal job is now. Stores are already putting out the Christmas Creep so managers are already thinking about staffing. Here’s a few things you can do to make yourself stand out from the competition, which is expected to be fiercer than ever:

* Commit to the entire holiday season, including the after-Christmas stampede
* Be flexible about shifts. If you’re all, “I can work any time except for Tuesday from 2-4 and Wednesdays from 9-1 and 5-9 and oh Saturdays from 7-7:30 oh and on the third Friday…” a manager is going to lose interest.
* Apply in places where you have related prior experience. During crunch time there’s little room for on the job training.
* Apply in person with a grin on your face and chipper up-beat attitude!

Have you ever worked retail over the holidays? How did you get the job? Sound off in the comments.
