I wish articles discussing how to negotiate a salary would ONCE include those young in the field with little/no experience.

There are plenty of fields that don’t require specific education or experience (although beneficial) in order to get into the industry, but How-Tos never discuss how to get a better salary in those situations. Or, if the rule is to simply take what you get (unlikely) they don’t even say that. It’s an un-discussed topic.

I threw a number out once because I had to fill in a blank, and i got a message back that it was outside of their range.
That’s been the only contact back I’ve had from *any* job I’ve applied for. *facepalm* I emailed them back, but how do you say “wait no no no I’ll work for what you’re offering please please I just pulled that number out of my ass” ?

The gaming evening article is nice, however other options (especially for the younger crowd) can include halo, rock band/guitar hero, singstar (karaoke), in addition to the boardgames (catan, etc) We have had good luck with having separate areas where people can move around and play the different games at their leisure.

I’m disappointed that the Gaming Event article didn’t mention anything about Mountain Dew, Doritos or first-aid for polyhedral dice caused injuries.
