Papa John's Now The Official Crappy Pizza Of The NFL
We sure hope you football fans love Papa John’s commercials, because you’re going to see a lot more of them in the upcoming season. The pizza chain has just signed a three-year deal with the NFL to become the official pizza sponsor of both the league and the Super Bowl.
While Papa John’s wouldn’t slap a dollar amount on the deal, it did admit that this is the biggest sponsorship program in the Louisville-based company’s existence.
Papa John’s was the pizza sponsor for the most recent Super Bowl and the company saw a massive spike in single day sales from all the Colts fans trying to cope with their loss. According to the company, they sold 900,000 pizzas that day, the most it had ever sold in one day.
Now, in addition to having a bigger presence every Sunday, Papa John’s is now permitted to use NFL logos and trademarks in all its ads and marketing materials.
”To have that powerful affiliation of their branding with our branding should allow us to really see some nice, measurable results,” said some guy from Papa John’s.
Football sponsorship is nothing new to the country’s third-largest pizza chain. It is already the official pizza of the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, Tennessee Titans and Washington Redskins.
