Drunk Golf Fan Gets Taser Treatment For Heckling Tiger Woods
Hey, drunkie! You mess with Tiger Woods and you’re going to get Tasered: A drunken golf fan got the shock treatment from cops yesterday during the 11th hole of The Players Championship after he wouldn’t stop heckling Woods from the crowd, the New York Daily News reports.
Travis Parmelee, 36, of Jacksonville, Fla., was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest. He was told by security guards at the tourney in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. to cut out the yelling a few times. When he just wouldn’t zip his lips, guards called the sheriff who then dispatched deputies to subdue him.
Capt. Dave Messenger said officers attempted to calm Parmelee down, but he became more combative. When they tried to take Parmelee into custody, he resisted — and was Tasered once.
Messenger said Parmelee had been drinking.
At the time, Woods was nine strokes back from the lead.
This guy and the 17-year-old Phillies fan who was Tasered by cops after he ran onto the outfield could start a support group, perhaps. No word yet on the golf heckler is feeling, but Steve Consalvi was able to walk off the field after his ordeal, and was charged with criminal trespassing.
