Best Buy’s Black Friday Ad Up

With the image fidelity of a Sasquatch sighting, Best Buy’s Black Friday Ad has arrived.

Select DVD’s $4.99, Nikon 5mp camera $119, JMagellan Roadmate 2000 GPS System $279.99 .

So far, these Black Friday ads have been underwhelming. These are the deals people physically trample each other for? There’s something very wrong with America. — BEN POPKEN

  1. Jesse in Japan says:

Is the XBOX 360 Core System at 299.99 even a deal?

  2. Ben Popken says:

Nope. Not even a deal. That’s their current price.

  3. Magister says:

This is the first Black Friday in a few years where there is just nothing I am willing to get in line for at 6am. I have done it in the past for some fun stuff, I just don’t see anything this year. I definatly don’t need a $400 single core laptop.

I will still shopping around that morning, but I won’t get my feelings hurt.

  4. Teqonix says:

Just got to know what to look for. Best Buy usually has about 15 laptops per store that they throw out for $400 or so on Balck Friday. This time it’s actually a decent notebook (no Celeron, really?) with a Core Solo, which I am highly tempted to camp out for. Oh, and that 22-inch Westinghouse LCD monitor for $200 looks pretty hot, too.

  5. mfergel says:

Yawn……these retailers should learn from Walmarts mistake last year when they essentially offered a standard ad nobody showed up. So far, the only thing of interest I’ve seen in the black Friday ads is a highback reclining chair at Office Max for $49.

  6. Hitchcock says:

The 52″ HDTV for only $700 looks pretty good. As do all the Westinghouse HDTVs. My plan is to hold out until my 32″ SDTV I bought in 1996 wears out, as I want HDTV prices to fall. But Those are VERY good prices for HDTV sets.

I’ll need to research them a bit before going through with it though.

  7. Sheik says:

Man, there really just aren’t any deals. I admit to having gone to a Best Buy the day after Thanksgiving. The line for the computer section wrapped around the entire interior of the store. But even then, there were nominally good deals, DVD+/-Rs for $20. This is a good deal even today and this was 3 years ago that was advertised. I swore I would never go out on Black Friday again after that. I should have no problem keeping that promise. Beside between Dealhack, edealinfo and spoofee there are just as good deals every day of the year, and you dont have to leave your house.
