Former Audible Customer Proposes Class Action For “Misleading” Expiring Credits

Amazon’s audiobook store/subscription service hybrid, Audible, charges its members a monthly fee, in return for which they get monthly credits. However, customers have learned that while they get to keep their purchased books after canceling a membership, they do not get to keep unused credits. One of them has filed a class action against Amazon over this structure, claiming that the credits are like gift cards. [More]

Amazon’s Audible Creating Network Of Subscription-Only Podcasts

If you’re a big podcast listener, you may have wondered whether it would be possible to just pay up instead of listening to one more rambling ad spot for Audible, Blue Apron, or Stamps.com. There’s a growing number of options out there, and the newest one happens to be from Audible, the Amazon-owned audiobook services. Audible Issues $5 Credit To Inconvenienced Customers

Audible Issues $5 Credit To Inconvenienced Customers

Audible will issue a $5 credit to anyone inconvenienced as the podcast and audiobook retailer moves their New Jersey offices. The only caveat: you must explicitly request a credit. Jayson discovered the compensation policy, which will be in effect “for a couple of weeks,” when he complained after his episode of Car Talk failed to download.

When I told the customer service rep that I felt I deserved some sort of credit for the inconvenience, she replied that Audible had decided to give $5 credits to anyone who called and explicitly asked for a credit due to this problem.

We are not surprised, given Audible’s track record of excellent customer service. If you are an Audible subscriber and your podcast fails to download, call and ask for a credit. Audible customer service can be reached at (888) 283-5051.
