Man Expresses Disenchantment With Best Buy Refunds

Antonio Cangiano says he bought a brand new Aspire 5100 as a gift for his wife and barely touched it before a giant crystal liquid leak appeared on its screen. A Best Buy tech insisted it was customer abuse, but after an hour of arguing, he got them to agree to look at it in the warranty inspection depot. There is no lesson here, no takeaway, only one man’s vented spleen.

Kmart Adds 70 Drugs To Its $15 Generic Drug Program

Kmart Adds 70 Drugs To Its $15 Generic Drug Program

Now covered by the 90-Day Generics Program are nearly 70 new generic medications, including 17 different formulations of popular generic prescription prenatal vitamins, a larger selection than other generic programs

At $5 a month, Kmart’s program is still more expensive than Walmart’s $4 a month program, but instead of going to Walmart every month, Kmart offers a 90 day supply for $15. Presuming, of course, that you can locate a Kmart.

Sprint Customers Terminated For Complaining Too Much Were Scamming Sprint For Free Service

Sprint Customers Terminated For Complaining Too Much Were Scamming Sprint For Free Service

Sprint announced Monday it was canceling the accounts of around 1,000 people who called customer service too much. At first blush, it might sound like a pretty jerk thing to do, have bad service and then punish people who complain, but we spoke with one of our most reliable Sprint insiders, who had a different side to the story: the terminated customers were scamming Sprint, calling in again and again, just to get free service credits.

FCC Proposes New Rules To Further "Unlock" Cellphones

Sick of boring handsets with crippled features? So is FCC chairman Kevin Martin. He’s proposing “sweeping new rules” that would apply to the 700mhz spectrum that is soon to be vacated as television goes digital. What will the new rules be?

Under Martin’s proposal, to be circulated in the agency as early as Tuesday, mobile services in these airwaves would have to allow consumer choice.

True-Life-Tale Of Dealing With A Telemarketer Who Continually Ignored The Do-Not-Call List

True-Life-Tale Of Dealing With A Telemarketer Who Continually Ignored The Do-Not-Call List

I just got yet ANOTHER call from a third party selling life insurance policies for BoA. Sometime last month, I told them to stop calling me, and that just because I bank with BoA (I had…I terminated that week before last for reasons unrelated to this) doesn’t mean they’re allowed to keep calling despite my telling them to stop. If I had access to our call records at the moment, I’d list the time, date, and duration of each call, as well as the date I told them to stop.
