Some model year 2013 Explorer, Taurus and Lincoln MKS vehicles manufactured in late 2012 have a little problem: the child safety locks don’t always safely lock children inside. Child safety locks prevent passengers in the back seats from opening car doors from the inside. In the affected vehicles, these locks can turn themselves off.

Most of the affected Fords and Lincolns were sold here in North America. Ford will contact vehicle owners, and test the child safety locks and repair if needed at no cost.

In other exciting auto recall news, Mitsubishi has recalled 3,200 model year 2011 Outlander Sport vehicles because some glass roofs were installed without primer, and may detach. Mistubishi literally blames this problem on a temp who happened to be working that day (look at the bottom of page 2).
