Three Delta Employees Charged With Smuggling At Least $600K In Drugs
Even though it could result in a life sentence and millions of dollars in fines, airline and airport staff continue to think that smuggling drugs is a good way to earn a few extra bucks on the side.
A few days after security screeners at LAX were arrested for allegedly allowing drug smugglers to sneak their wares onto flights, a trio of Delta dunces in Atlanta have been indicted on charges of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin.
The men were caught after another Delta staffer discovered an unclaimed bag going around on the carousel. Customs and Border Protection agents opened it up and found a bonanza of drugs inside.
One of the men charged was the supervisor of the ramp employees who had unloaded that particular bag off a flight from Mexico. The other men were identified after police checked the supervisor’s phone and found incriminating texts.
