Three Unique Hotels That Feature More Than Standard Room And Board

A normal night’s sleep in a boring run-of-the-mill hotel room? Why bother, when you can slumber sweetly in a yurt perched on a cliff? If you seek the latest in extreme sleeping, you might want to check out a few of these unique hotels.

CNNMoney
lists nine inns that are more than your average accommodations, including the below examples of inventive options.

Treebones resort: Located in Big Sur, Calif., this locale offers the opportunity to sleep in a tent-like yurt on a cliff, complete with wood floors, plush queen-sized beds and French doors that open to decks overlooking the ocean. Add in an included scrambled egg, granola and organic yogurt breakfast and you’re not even breaking the bank at $169-$199 a night. Kinda worth it, if even to tell your pals you’ve snoozed in a yurt.

Jumbo Stay: For those aviation lovers, you can sleep just like you’re jetting around the world, without ever lifting off the ground, at the Jumbo Stay in Stockholm, Sweden. Shell out $287 per night and you get a private suite and breakfast in a room on a real Boeing 747 parked at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Kokopelli’s Cave Bed & Breakfast: The Southwest has its share of nooks and crannies, including the sandstone caves at this B&B in Farmington, N.M. near the Mesa Verde National Monument. Visitors must sign a liability waiver before they walk up a set of steps cut into the rock and down a ladder to gain entry to the hotel, 280 feet above the La Plata River. All that hard work costs $260 a night to sleep in rooms that include a cascading waterfall-style shower and a hot tub carved from flagstone.
