The Strange Flavors People Give Ice Cream
Just as culinary mad scientists will attempt to fry just about anything, they will also make ice cream flavors out of the least expected stuff.
In a slide show, Food & Wine rounds up some of the oddest ice cream flavors from around the globe. Some of the strangest spotted in America include prosciutto, foie gras and liquid nitrogen in San Francisco, matzoh on the East Coast, cicada (yes, the bug) in Missouri and lobster in Maine. People in Florida apparently dress ice cream with burger buns and toppings.
Thankfully, the cicada ice cream is apparently no longer sold.
