Redbox Will Launch $2 Game Rentals In June
Finalizing a program it’s been testing for months, Redbox announced it’s making $2-per-night video game rentals available at more than 21,000 kiosks nationwide starting June 17.
Joystiq reports PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii games will be up for $2 one-night stands. The price point doesn’t make sense for multiplayer games people will play regularly for months, but for single-player games you can plow through in less than a couple weeks, the $2 fee makes more sense than buying a $60 game.
If you’ve rented games from Redbox, let us know what sort of value you think the nightly service offers.
