Cleveland Browns Fan Sues Team, NFL Over Lockout
Even though an NFL work stoppage is the one thing that keeps the Cleveland Browns from embarrassing themselves, a fan of the team is suing the team and league over its lockout, claiming the league violated his personal seat license contract, which grants him the right to buy tickets.
A self-made millionaire who once sought political office, the fan tells ESPN he’s suing to help fellow football lovers:
“It’s a fight between billionaires and millionaires. There isn’t any sympathy for multimillionaires. It’s just not going to happen. And somebody has to stand up and say, ‘Enough’s enough.’ “
The fan seeks $25,000 from the Browns, as well as $25,000 from the league and its teams. ESPN reports the Giants, Jets, Panthers and Bills have adjusted their personal seat license policies in lieu of the work stoppage, with the Giants not making its fans renew seat licenses until the lockout ends.
