LeBron's Miami Move Gets 30 People Fired
Psychiatrists. Chiropractors. Ticket agents. All are lines of work that, if done too well, can make the worker obsolete. Such is the situation 30 members of the Miami Heat’s ticket sales staff find themselves in. After LeBron James joined the team and the ticket sellers sold all the season tickets, the front office canned the staff.
The Miami Herald spoke with a laid off salesman who basically admitted his job consisted of Solitaire and Minesweeper: “They let us go because there was really nothing left to do anymore,” he said.
The Heat released a statement that said the organization appreciates the sellers’ hard work and hired a placement service to find new work for the departed.
