9/11 Terrorist Stars In Facebook Ad
Online advertisers will do anything for clicks, and Facebook will take anybody’s money. A Facebook advertiser decided the best way to grab eyeballs was to put a picture of a 9/11 terrorist in his banner ad. Yep, it’s good ol’ Mohamed Atta, the guy who steered the first plane to crash into the World Trade Center.
I understand that they’re trying to get attention any way they can. After all, you can only get so far with dancing aliens and dancing moms. But I dunno how well the piece works on a conceptual level… I mean, do people really drive cars in hell? If so, they’re probably Toyotas.
The question is, did they do this on purpose, sort of like the ad of the guy who looks like he lives in a pile of sticks in the woods, or was it auto-grabbed from someone’s profile who was using Mohamed as a profile picture?
(Thanks to Adam!)
