Oh man, those carbide rings are awesome! I would kind of like to snap up a pair for wedding bands, but I’ve heard they can’t be engraved.

    • osiris73 says:

@h3llc4t, breaker of office dress codes: Yeah, but all they have are sized 5-8. What kind of girly-man are they targeting here?

    • docrice says:

@h3llc4t, breaker of office dress codes: I got a great aircraft-grade titanium band for a pretty good price. Check out It’s tough as hell and very light/comfortable to wear.

@docrice: @GitEmSteveDave_HazEnvy: Thanks for the heads up, guys! I’ve always been in love with the titanium and tungsten jewelry for looks alone, but we’re both pretty rough on rings so the durability is an added bonus. We saw someone last weekend that had a black Ti ring and it was beautiful. I’m waiting for the boy to get up so I can see if he likes these. As for the shattering, I’ve heard that it’s highly dependent upon the quality of the tungsten/carbide mix; as I understand it, the tungsten by itself is quite brittle but a decently made alloy will withstand a lot of pressure.

@h3llc4t, breaker of office dress codes: If you want a engraved ring, I know [] is a great company which I’ve ordered three rings through, and have been nothing but happy. They also do outside engraving on Ti, which is unusual. I only bring them up because I remember them having Tungsten on their site, but not sure if they still do. Send them an email and ask. Their rings are top quality at a low price. If anyone can engrave a ring, it’s them. I’m partial to Ti myself, because I worry about the shattering on tungsten and also not a fan of the weight.

@h3llc4t, breaker of office dress codes: I have a titanium ring and I absolutely love it. If you guys are rough on jewelry I’d suggest a satin finish, something I got on mine. I work on motorcycles and engines, and it’s as good as the day I got it, it’s light, comfortable, and I hate finger jewelry! Comfort fit FTW.

Those JumpDrives attach to a lanyard, if you carry them that way, through the cap. My employer buys them for the employees and I have lost two of them so far; I go to get it off my lanyard and it’s gone.

    • MiltyKiss says:

@wchamilton: This happens to so many people I know. That’s why I usually carry it in my backpack, except when I don’t have my backpack for some reason (it’s in my cube, forgot it in my car, etc.).

  4. SexCpotatoes says:

Dang, I wish I’d gotten a free PS3 when I bought my Sony from Sony Style.

Let that be a lesson to all you kids: There’s always a better deal coming along, so be patient.

@SexCpotatoes: Couldn’t agree more. That’s why I’m holding out on getting this kidney installed until the hospital has a sale. Seems to be doing OK in the fridge, and it’s in Tupperware!
