Questions To Ask Energy Resellers
Many states offer a choice of energy suppliers. Some of these energy resellers actually can offer savings, but before you sign, be sure to ask a few questions, especially if they come to your door.
How much will it cost? How long is the rate good for? Are there any other fees?
What are the other terms and conditions? For instance, is there a fee for early termination?
Who’s the contact for problems? Does the company have a local customer service office?
A straight-dealing company should be willing and able to provide answers to all the above questions. Your state utility commission can tell you if can choose your own energy provider.
Couple these questions with an inquiring and skeptical mind and the salesman doesn’t have to be the only one with a foot in the door!
