Reservation System Snafu Prompts American Airlines To Temporarily Ground All Flights
It could be a tough travel day for American Airlines customers: An outage in its reservations system has prompted American to ground all flights, at least temporarily, until the company can get the dang thing up and running again.
The airline is holding flights on the ground until 5 p.m. ET today, after first advising customers via Twitter around noon that its reservation system was having issues.
It updated that status a few hours later to tell passengers that it was imposing a ground delay on all flights until 5 p.m. ET:
Stuck on a grounded plane? Flight canceled? Let us know how it’s going — the good and the bad — and how American is handling the situation by sending an email to tips@consumerist.com.
