Restaurant Owner Gets 90 Days In Jail For Creating Fake Sex Site Profile For Unsatisfied Customer
Image courtesy of (Vincent J. Brown)The whole mess began in 2009, when the customer posted a negative review of one of the owner’s two Ottawa restaurants.
To retaliate, the owner then set up a fake profile using the customer’s real name on an adults-only hookup site. She also posed as the customer to send sexually oriented e-mails to her boss.
“I am open to anything — couples, threesomes and group sex. Am especially into transsexuals and transgenders (being one myself). I am… a tiger in the bedroom,” read one e-mail sent by the restaurant owner pretending to be the customer.
In addition to the 90-day jail sentence, the owner must take an anger management course and complete 200 hours of community service.
“All I was doing was exercising my right as a customer to give my opinion on the situation as it was,” the libeled customer tells the CBC. “I don’t think the retaliation was exactly merited.”
