Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac Announce Eviction-Free Holidays Once Again
It’s hard enough for some of us to enjoy the stressful holidays, and getting booted from your home during this season would be well, a really, really bad thing. Nice then, that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have again announced that certain home evictions will be suspended from Dec. 19 to Jan. 2.
The companies temporarily stayed evictions last year as well. This year’s suspensions include all foreclosure-related evictions from occupied single-family and two-to-four unit properties held by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that have already completed the foreclosure process, says the Chicago Tribune.
If you’re already on your way to eviction but it hasn’t happened yet, those processes will continue during the suspensions, but no families will be removed from their homes.
