Apparently it’s not just Walmart that’s trying to seduce customers by offering layaway as an option this holiday season.

Consumerist reader Ed spotted this sign at his local HoneyBaked Ham store in Illinois and sent it in using the free Consumerist Tipster app for iPhone.

“I’m sorry but if you need laway for a ham, don’t get ham,” writes Ed. “Or at least get a cheaper one.”

Of course, remember that layaway can sometimes end up costing you more than if you’d used a credit card to make the purchase, so think about that the next time you’re putting a pork product on layaway.
