Class Action Suit Against BofA For Deceptive Loan Mods Goes National
Olly, olly, oxen, free. A class action lawsuit against Bank of America claiming they were less than above board with their loan modification practices has been certified for national participation.
The suit says that Bank of America has deceived consumers by promising to get to request for loan mods and telling homeowners foreclosures would be put on hold while the modifications were considers, but then going ahead and foreclosing anyway.
It’s probably a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing, but that doesn’t mean that consumers weren’t screwed over.
“B of A, who we’ve sued amongst others, are still not complying with the federal law that they agreed to comply with when they took the $75 billion that was set aside as part of TARP for home modifications to save the homeowner,” Attorney Matthew Callister told KTNV.
Bank of America refused to comment to KTNV but said they are planning to move towards dismissal.
