As we recently mentioned, Consumerist and Consumer Reports have teamed up with ABC News for an upcoming 20/20 special called “Infomercial Nation,” that will air next Friday, May 20.
The special will look at how the infomercial has evolved from late-night punchline — offering strange products with hard-to-believe claims — to its current 24/7 presence in our lives, selling just about anything you could imagine.
“Infomercial Nation” will go behind-the-scenes at the Consumer Reports labs, where they put some of these products to the test.
The special airs on 20/20, next Friday, May 20, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
