Motorola Droid 2 Screen Shatters In Man's Ear, Blood Everywhere
A Texas man showed up at the hospital with blood streaming down his ear after his Motorola Droid 2 screen shattered in his ear.
He said he just ended a call when he heard a loud “pop.” He then began to feel blood trickling down his face. He got four stitches. His hearing wasn’t affected.
Later, he examined the phone and said it looked like the screen had “burst outward.” The phone still worked, though.
Reached for comment, Motorola told Consumerist, “Motorola’s priority is, and always has been the safety of our customers, and all Motorola products are designed, manufactured and tested to meet or exceed international and local standards for consumer safety. We will reach out to the consumer and investigate this thoroughly.”
For the curious, there’s a graphic photo of the injury on the WFAA site.
If you have a defective product that harms you, make sure to document the incident with photographs and in writing. Contact the manufacturer and report it to the CPSC.
