    Anyone know if the Nightmare on Elm Street collection is going to be on blu-ray anytime soon? I wouldn’t bother getting this one if I knew it was going to be out on blu-ray in the next few months.

      I hear it MIGHT be coming out sometime next year when they release the remake? of the first movie.

      Probably a very definite maybe. But not confirmed.

      Apparently you can buy it imported from Canada.

        Yeah, I caught that thread when I googled it all. I guess the problem is, whether they release it on blu-ray or not next year, it doesn’t matter. Even if they did release the entire collection of movies on blu-ray, it would be way too expensive. $20 for the regular movies is a really good deal. Then it’s about $2.50 each movie.

          And $2.50 per movie might be all you’re willing to pay when you see a few of them again. I just watched the last two–Freddy’s Dead and The New Nightmare–and Freddy’s Dead is just amazingly, jaw-droppingly horrible. I have never seen a studio flick before where I wondered if both the director and editor had ever worked in film. I also suspect that some of the footage was lost and they just tried to make do with what they had lying around. I didn’t remember it being so awful when I saw it in the theater (with the 3D glasses because I am sucker for gimmicks), but to be fair I was probably drunk then.

          The New Nightmare, however, is still pretty good. The re-imagining of how Freddy looks in that one is truly scary.
