Jeff forwarded us an email with this link good for $3 worth in MP3s from Amazon. Here are some instructions, terms and conditions cut and pasted from the site:
• Promotional offer valid for a limited time only and subject to change. Promotional offer is valid from November 23, 2009 12:00 AM PST through November 30, 2009 11:59 PM PST. You must redeem the code by November 30, 2009 11:59 PM PST.• If you’ve previously entered a promotional code, clicking the “Enter Your Code” button above will show your remaining balance.
• After your purchase, you can confirm the dollar amount of the code was applied by checking your order confirmation, which will be sent to you by e-mail.
I checked it out myself and can verify that it works.

I did this yesterday (Wed) morning and it worked fine.
It works. Just bought Painful by Yo La Tengo for $3 off. Happy Thanksgiving to me.
Sweet! Thanks, Phil!
I got this same email a couple days ago and … despite it’s “too good to be true” appearance … can also verify it works, exactly as advertised.
I got my free MP3′s the other day. Thanks Amazon, I might buy from you in the future!
Worked for me!
Doesn’t work for us Canadians though.
Don’t worry about it, for us Canadians it’s legal to download any MP3 from anywhere always. Except if you actually hack the servers, that is. Or upload.
You can also sign up for a weekly MP3 email from Amazon & get free stuff every week. Usually they offer an entire album for free download — lots of obscure music (to me anyway) but a good way to discover new things.
I’ll let you know this, you can create a dummy account to do another one…..I stopped at the 2nd one, who knows how many times you can do it though.
How cheap can you be? If you like the service and product, give them money.
As you may not have read, I said I stopped at 2….though I didn’t say that I purchased the rest of the album and 2 more.
For maximum savings combine this with one of the 500 albums Amazon has on sale for $5. Lots of good stuff available.
Doesn’t work for me…After clicking the button there is no place to enter the code, just a log-in screen. Once logged-in still no place to enter the code. Seems bogus.
I tried it. It worked as advertised. Thanks Amazon and Consumerist.
confirming that the $3 does not only apply to music, its good across the entire site.
A quick FYI on Amazon and mp3 players…Amazon will give you $5 of credit when you buy any mp3 player through them. Zune, iPod, P2, etc. Plus ALL of the music at Amazon isn’t crippled by DRM like other places (ahem, iTunes store).
Actually, the iTunes Music Store hasn’t had DRM on any of its music for quite a long time now…
Wow. Just tried it and it works. Thanks
Very cool, it worked fine for me. Used my $3 to get me some new music. Since it’s Amazon and DRM free, it’ll work on my Zune 30.
Worked for me. Downloaded three different MP3s I’d classify as “I would never buy the whole CD for this one song.”
Thanks! Was considering purchasing an album from there the other day, now I got it with a discount.
Worked for me. Downloaded 3 tracks from Crazy Love.
They also have $5 albums for Cyber Monday (i.e. today).
