    I don’t shop there anymore… buy.com used to be a fantastic one-stop shopping site until they stopped carrying most items themselves and started listing third-party sellers for the items. You get gouged on shipping. Each item you order from a third party is shipped separately, and the shipping is much higher than normal in my experience. If you order a book and a CD, instead of those items adding up to the free-shipping amount at buy.com, now each one comes from a different partner and you pay premium-priced shipping on each.

      @Trencher93: Yeah right, they’ve always been sketchy. I remember when they sent me an order twice (I only had one confirmation) and refused to give me a refund or accept the extra items as returns. They literally had no customer service email or phone litsed on the website (this was like 2001.) They’re a real high quality outfit all right.

    Buy.com screwed me the very first time I bought something there. I don’t know if they have changed but they were notorious for selling items they did not have in stock and weren’t going to be in stock for another week(s). And they didn’t even contact me to tell me. I had to call them after a couple of weeks went buy and nothing ever came in the mail and they website still wasn’t showing the item to be shipped.

    Man, I guess I’m an old vet. I first used buy.com in 1998, after I fell for their ads ‘lowest prices on the planet.’ For a while there, it was true – they had the lowest prices. For a while there, they also shipped me items without problem.

    Then things changed. I got some shipments, didn’t get others, get MULTIPLE shipments (with mulitple charges); I had enough and took my money elsewhere. Haven’t shopped there in at least 6-7 years. Their problems are VERY REAL and VERY HARD TO GET SOLUTIONS TO!

    I just bought something off of amazon.com and they were the seller. The external drive was listed as in stock and for 53 bucks. Two days after I placed the order I got an email stating the item was back ordered. I jump to their site and the exact same drive was listed for 100 bucks more than it was listed on amazon. There is no customer service that I’m aware of. I mean how long does it take to check an order status? Certainly not 2 days!! To top things off they charged my card for an item they can’t deliver.

      I will probably never order again through buy.com. Communication is awful and items do not ship in a reasonable amount of time. It has been 7 days since I ordered a digital frame and it still has not shipped. I’ve already canceled another order that was placed 8 days ago and the status has not changed from “processing” and I could not get any timely communication so I canceled and ordered from another source. Think twice before ordering from buy.com if you expect your item to arrive soon!

    Hopefully these email addresses will help. They failed to honor their return policy on a defective item I returned. Making matters worse I have received no responses to my emails (other than automated emails that they will be responding) and the web site lists no customer service number.

    I expect that sometimes there will be problems when ordering on line, but it is far worse when they will not even respond to complaints or attempt to solve problems.

    I wrote an email complaint last night to all three email addresses above. I received a response a few hours later (at 1:36 am EST) from Mr. Martin. He was very polite and specifically addressed my concerns. Turns out that what seemed to me to be a very simple request is actually quite a bit more problematic when you’re the person on the ground tasked to fulfill that request. So although my request may or may not be fulfilled, I am quite satisfied with their response. And I’m not a particularly easy person to please. Just my two cents, take it for what it’s worth.
