Good on that 17 year old! I don’t really get the attitude that we should just give into criminals nowadays..what ever happened to self defense? I think, comply but if you see an opening where you can defend yourself, your family, and your property, go for it.

So, out of curiosity, is FL one of those states where it’s legal for everyone to carry loaded weapons? Cuz the idea of a 16-year-old fast food employee and a KFC armed robber exchanging gunfire volleys over the counter sounds so much like a great idea for visiting, hungry families…

    From the 17-year-old story:

    >>”[Sheriff] Lee acknowledged that the gamble succeeded, but said it was one that could have cost lives. He repeated advice that the best way to survive a holdup is to cooperate.

    >>”‘Give them the money and give them the keys. You make an insurance payment on your car, and nobody gets shot,’ he said.”

Yeah, sounds like garbage to me. I’d much rather the criminal got shot than getting away. Of course, don’t take any undue risks, but the kid saw an opportunity and took it. Good for him.

@trai_dep: Yeah, that Pizza Hut story… I know “Employee Fired for Shooting Robber” is a great headline but it seems like he might have been fired for carrying a gun at work.

Darn. Cuz, while freaken insane the story has is it’s own kind of awesomeness.
