Carl’s Jr. Puts the XXX in Customer Service
As if a dripping Paris Hilton weren’t enough slut factor, Carl’s Jr. has gone the extra six inches to ensure they emphasize the service in their customer service “hot” lines.
That’s what Thomas Powell found out when he asked to register a complaint at the burger bistro and was directed to a phone number on a poster by the soda machine. After calling, his eyes of cool anger turned a different hue, to blush. The recorded voice on the other end sultrily implored him to call a second number to get “the best live talk.” After dialing the second number, a steamy machine offered him opportunities to talk with “hot, horny, girls.”
“We were just shocked,” said Powell.
Was the hamburger helpers spilling out of itself to make sure all its customers needs were met? Had the Crispin, Porter & Bogusky ad agency dropped Burger King and picked up the Carl’s Jr. account?
Turns out the poster was years old and the toll-free customer service number changed since then. In the interim, a phone sex service snatched the digits up.
