Last week, Tyson Foods and McDonald’s said they were cutting ties with a poultry farm in Tennessee that was accused by an animal rights group of mistreating and abusing chickens. Authorities in that state now confirm they’re looking into the allegations of criminal animal cruelty by operators of the farm.
Tennessee Authorities Investigating Allegations Of Animal Cruelty At Chicken Farm Dumped By Tyson, McDonald’s
McDonald’s and supplier Tyson Foods are promising to stop working with a Tennessee chicken farm after an animal rights group released images from hidden cameras showing alleged mistreatment of the birds.
Noticing how a spare syringe was sitting on his desk right next to his box of McNuggets and dipping sauces, Kenji over at Serious Eats was struck by inspiration. McDonald’s is offering $.99 6-piece McNugget Mondays regional promotion, good now through Sept. 30, limited to the Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties of Florida. Normally it’s $.99 for 4, so it’s basically two free nuggets.
We’ve made it pretty clear that we don’t condone Latreasa Goodman’s attempt to use 911 to report a McNugget Emergency, but in all fairness to Goodman, she was being shafted by the lying, uncooperative McDonald’s employee who said “all sales final” and refused to refund her money. McDonald’s has released a statement where they own up to their role in escalating things in the first place, and they’re sending her a free meal gift card as well as the refund she originally requested. Now she can enjoy a complimentary lunch on the day she goes to plead “no contest” to the judge for abuse of 911.
A Florida woman called 911 three times because the McDonald’s where she was dining ran out of McNuggets.
