Whether you personally are sick of taking surveys or not, we can thank the people who were asked about their burger preferences for filling us all in on which chains we like best. Relative newcomer Five Guys Burgers and Fries won the day in every region, coming in at No. 1 out of 16 restaurants. Not so shocking, as the chain has been pleasing customers and critics alike for awhile now.

YouTube user kylecorley captured on video the extremely long line at lunchtime for the drive-thru at the first In-N-Out burger in Texas on opening day this week. It goes way way way down the highway leading up to the joint. We’re sure that just like when Krispy Kreme places first opened out west, those lines are here to stay.
Yesterday the first In-N-Out Burger join in Texas opened its doors. The chain is unlike others in terms of the fervent loyalty it engenders in its fans, and they came by the thousands yesterday to Frisco, Texas to partake in its offerings. Some of them wore paper hats. Some of them ran out of gas. And then there’s this woman, a Cali transplant, who openly cried on camera as she bit into the burger and memories of her childhood flooded back. That grilled patty was her madeleine.
Don’t think you can call your place “Nicky’s In-N-Out” and include a certain familiar-looking big yellow arrow in your logo and get away with it. In-N-Out — the beloved California burger chain — has settled a trademark lawsuit against a Chicagoland copycat gyro joint.
The results of this year’s Zagat’s Fast Food Survey are in and Wendy’s is the top “Mega-Chain” (over 5,000 outlets) and In-N-Out burger the best large chain (up to 5,000). When asked which outlet had the best burger regardless of number of locations — In-N-Out came in first with Wendy’s at #2.
