Sabra Recalls Hummus Over Listeria For Second Time In Two Years

What’s your favorite flavor of hummus — is it garlic? Maybe roasted red pepper? How about Listeria monocytogenes? The bacteria might not be a popular flavor, but for the second time in less than two years*, Sabra Dipping Co. is recalling some of its products over concerns they may be contaminated with the pathogen.”

The voluntary recall is related to some products made before Nov. 8, 2016, the Food and Drug Administration announced. Listeria was identified at the manufacturing facility, the company says, but not in any finished products that were tested. Sabra says it has now taken steps to correct the issue.

The company is urging anyone with a “Best Before” date up through Jan. 23 on the products listed below to discard it. The “Best Before” date and code can be found on each product’s lid.

Products in particular that are NOT included in the recall include: Sabra Organic Hummus, Sabra Salsa, Sabra Guacamole, and Sabra Greek Yogurt Dips.

If you’ve got questions, call Sabra Consumer Relations at 1-866-265-6761 for additional information from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET. For product reimbursement, contact the company at www.sabrahummusrecall.com.
