One of Google’s self-driving vehicles has been involved in another crash while cruising the streets of Mountain View, CA, the company confirmed, after another driver ran a red light and crashed into the Lexus RX 450h.

No one was injured in the accident, KRON 4 reported, which happened at around 1:30 on Friday afternoon.

Google released a statement about the crash to TechCrunch:

“A Google vehicle was traveling northbound on Phyllis Ave. in Mountain View when a car heading westbound on El Camino Real ran a red light and collided with the right side of our vehicle. Our light was green for at least six seconds before our car entered the intersection. Thousands of crashes happen everyday on U.S. roads, and red-light running is the leading cause of urban crashes in the U.S. Human error plays a role in 94% of these crashes, which is why we’re developing fully self-driving technology to make our roads safer.”

KRON reported that the Google vehicle had been in autonomous mode at the time of the crash, but there was a Google employee in the car who took over its operation and hit the brakes when the other car’s driver entered the intersection.

Google issues reports every month with details on how many miles its autonomous vehicles have traveled, the number of test vehicles out on the roads, and details about any collisions.
