Sony Extends PlayStation Store Sales While Still Experiencing Connectivity Issues

intermittentIf you have a Sony PlayStation, you’re no doubt aware that the PlayStation Network went down for several days during the Christmas holiday and is still apparently experiencing problems. While the company isn’t yet offering any free stuff or reimbursing PlayStation Plus members for the downtime, it is extending a pair of sales in response to the incident.

The company announced yesterday on its blog that it would extend the current Flash Sale (which was supposed to end Dec. 29) until 12 p.m. PT on Dec. 31. Additionally, the ongoing Holiday Sale has been extended to 12 p.m. PT on Jan. 6, 2015.

The sales do have some decent discounts, like Dragon Age: Inquisition for $39 ($21 off the retail price), The Evil Within for only $30 (half of the retail price), along with sale prices on movie and TV downloads.

As of right now, the PlayStation Knowledge Center still says there are “Intermittent Connectivity” issues with the network.

The company is suggesting that users who still have trouble accessing the network go through the steps described here to update some settings on their device’s Internet connection.
