Grocery Store Shopper Calls The Cops On A Mom For Dropping F-Bombs In Front Of Her Kids

Is it a crime to swear at your children? That’s the question in one South Carolina town right now, after a Kroger customer called the cops on her fellow shopper for allegedly dropping f-bombs in front of her children.

The woman who got arrested on charges of disorderly conduct tells WJBF News that she was shopping at Kroger with her husband and children, when another woman came up to her and accused her of using profanity toward the little ones.

Everything went down after the woman said she yelled at her husband for repeatedly smushing a loaf of bread in the cart by tossing frozen pizzas on top of it. She says she directed a bad word at her husband, but then the other shopper came up to her and accused her of cursing at her kids.

“She’s like, ‘you said the f-word’, and I’m like, ‘when did I say this to my kids?” she explained, saying she’d been speaking to her husband for being annoying and smushing the bread.

The other shopper then called public safety officers, who placed the mother under arrest.

“He was like, ‘You’re under arrest’…right in front of kids, in front of my husband, in front of customers,” she said.

Local law defines disorderly conduct as to “utter, while in a state of anger, in the presence of another, any bawdy, lewd or obscene words or epithets,” and officials said because that ordinance is on the books, they have to enforce it.

The two have since spoken on the phone, with the other shopper reportedly apologizing to the woman, saying she didn’t mean for her to get arrested, reports NBC 26 News.

She explained that hearing that language brought up memories of a tough childhood, and both women agreed to put things behind them.
