Woman Sues Walmart Over Shampoo She Claims Ruined Her Super Long Locks

Like Lady Godiva and Sampson before her, a woman in Oregon took great pride in her long locks, which used to reach the small of her back. Until, she claims, a shampoo she bought from Walmart tangled her hair so badly she had to cut large chunks of it off.

In the lawsuit the woman says she purchased “Equate Everyday Clean Dandruff Shampoo” at a Portland Walmart, and when she washed her hair with it in October, her hair was hopelessly knotted within seconds, reports The Oregonian.

“She was not able to remove the knots and as a result she had to cut a large portion of her hair from the top and back of her head,” states the suit.

As a result she lost a few feet of length, leaving four inches of hair, she claims. A stylist tried to fix what was left into a semblance of something nice, but as the 30-year-old woman claims, she’s always identified with having long hair and is now devastated.

She’s named both Walmart and the shampoo’s maker, Vi-Jon, in the lawsuit, and is seeking $10,000 for her “past, present and future physical and emotional pain and suffering, anxiety, humiliation and embarrassment, expenses for replacement hair, along with diminished and lost wages,” along with her “loss of life’s pleasures and activities.”

It’s unclear if one of those activities involved riding around town in her birthday suit on a horse, which always sounded really fun to me. Until I realized I didn’t have nearly enough hair. So it goes.
