Consumerist Is Looking For A DC-Based Contributor. Maybe It’s You

Even though Consumerist covers the lawmakers and regulators in Washington, D.C., it’s been several years since we’ve actually had anyone based in our nation’s capital. Hopefully that will soon change, as we’re hoping to find a contributor who can cover the federal beat.

We’re looking to bring on a freelancer to write stories and report on consumer-oriented regulations and policies. Candidates must be located in, and have easy access to, Washington, D.C.

In terms of experience, the ideal candidate would have some professional reporting and writing background, though we will also consider people with significant amateur experience, whether in college or on their own. A background in consumer and/or political reporting would help, but is not necessarily a dealbreaker.

Interested? Good. Send a resume (just your basic credentials; you don’t need to make it pretty) and some clips (or links to clips) to dc@consumerist.com.

We expect that a lot of people will inquire about the gig, so unfortunately we’ll only be able to reply to those we’re able to consider.
