Everyone Get Ready To Freak Out: Starbucks Hiking Prices 1% Nationwide Next Week

Hey everyone, the price of coffee beans is going down! That’s great news — for Starbucks, but not necessarily for its customers. In fact I would be remiss in not mentioning the news that prices are actually going to go up pretty much everywhere across the country at Starbucks next week, by about 1%.

Sure, it’s just a few pennies, but it’s better to be forewarned than to suddenly be confronted by a price hike and then take to the social network beast to complain about it. Not that you would do that (I would, probably).

The company says the price hike will be on average about 1%, but won’t affect each and every drink. Medium and large brewed coffees and Frappuccinos will likely not change in most of the 11,000 U.S. locations, a spokeswoman told the Associated Press.

“Less than a third of beverages will see a small increase in most stores,” she said, adding that the increases will range across different drinks in various areas.

So you could drive to one Starbucks by work and see an uptick on a latte and drive to another for by home where tea is pennies more. This will likely happen because there is a Starbucks everywhere you turn. Prepare yourselves. We’ve got the weekend to work through our feelings on this, everyone.
