Home Depot To Hire 80,000 Seasonal Workers This Spring

While most retailers pack on some extra workforce during the holiday season, the spring months are the busy time for places like Home Depot. The retailer annonced this morning that it plans on adding 80,000 seasonal workers in the coming months — 10,000 more than it employed in 2012.

“Spring is always a special season for us, when we can offer employment opportunities for literally tens of thousands of Americans,” said the company’s executive vice president—Human Resources in a statement. “We find some of our best associates during our peak season, and many of them have built long, meaningful careers with us.”

The need and availability of jobs will vary by region and by store, but the company says it is hiring both full- and part-time seasonal workers. Those interested in applying can go to www.careers.homedepot.com.

The company also recently launched its Online Military Skills Translator, designed to help translate and match an applicant’s unique military skills with positions that might offer the best fit. The translator and a list of military-focused career fairs can be found at www.careers.homedepot.com/military.
