I Can’t Get Sam’s Club To Take My Money

Rhoda wanted to get the new Halo 4 edition of the Xbox 360, and she wanted to get it from Sam’s Club. Presumably, she’s a member, and she says that she has ordered online from Sam’s before. But something about this transaction made the store’s computers unhappy, and the order wouldn’t go through. She called up the company to verify the order and tried again, only to face even more rejection.

On Wednesday, 10/31/2012 at 12:05 pm, I ordered the Halo4 XBOX 360 console and received email confirmation of my order.On Thursday 11/1/2012 at 11:35 am, I received an email from Sam’s Club saying I needed to call and give them more information before 11/6/2012 so that they could process my order otherwise my order would be cancelled. By the way, this was NOT my first Sam’s Club order.

On the morning of 11/2/2012 I called Member Service at 1-888-746-7726 and provided information verifying my identity, ship to address and bill to address. I was assured that this information would be submitted and that I would get my order.

On Monday, 11/5/2012, I logged on to account at samsclub.com to check on my order and noticed that it had not yet been shipped. I then called Member Service at 1-888-746-7726 and found out that the information that I provided on Friday, 11/2/2012 had not been entered in the computer. Once again, I provided information verifying my identity, ship to address and bill to address. I was assured that this information would be submitted and that I would get my order.

On Tuesday, 11/6/2012, I logged on to account at samsclub.com to check on my order and found that my order had been cancelled. Once again, called Member Service at 1-888-746-7726 and was told that the information that I provided (TWICE) had not been entered in a timely manner and my order had been cancelled.

I asked to speak to a manager who then told me that I would have to resubmit my order, I told her screw Sam’s Club and that I would buy this product elsewhere.

It would be wise for holiday shoppers to remember this.

It would be interesting if Rhoda were able to turn around and order from Samds’ big brother company Walmart instead. Trying to force the company to take her money seems like a losing proposition, though: Rhoda will be better off turning elsewhere.
