Outraged Madonna Fans Intolerant Of Her Tolerance Concert Only Lasting 45 Minutes

There’s nothing like a nice, small show to celebrate intolerance to get everyone’s duff up: Madonna put on a concert in Paris, meant to celebrate nice things like acceptance of your fellow man, but closed things down after only 45 minutes to the dismay of her fans. They turned on the intolerance and reportedly began booing the Material Girl,  crying out for refunds and slinging a few insults her way.

Yesterday’s show at the Olympia club was meant to be an intimate affair, streamed live on YouTube for any non-Parisians who wanted to see the diva belt out tunes. She reportedly went onstage about 10:15 p.m. and was outta there at 11 p.m. amid angry shouts from her fans.

To make matters even worse, these weren’t your ordinary, run-of-the-mill fans who kinda mumble along to the refrain of “Like a Virgin.” Nope. According to the Hollywood Reporter, these were diehard Madonnaphiles — super fans who got the tickets to the last-minute show for being members of her official fan club before the event was released for sale to the general public. Tickets cost anywhere from 80 to 280 euros, and fans camped outside of the venue before the show started.

The YouTube channel disabled comments on the re-broadcast of the video by this morning, and had more than 12,000 dislikes beating out the 10,000 likes, reports the Associated Press.

When asked to tweet about the event, audience members went all out, using #MDNAParis to complain about the quickie set which ended when Madonna abruptly left the stage.

The tolerance celebration was apparently in response to France’s far-right National Front, which was threatening to sue Madonna after she showed a video during a July 14 Bastille Day concert in Paris with a swastika emblazoned on the forehead of its lear, Marine Le Pen.

She told fans at the show:

“I know that I made a certain Marine Le Pen very angry with me. And it’s not my intention to make enemies,” Madonna told the crowd before adding: “It’s my intention to promote tolerance. And when we start saying that we have to get rid of this person or we have to get rid of that person, because then we’ll have a better place, it starts to sound like something else, it starts to sound like something scary. So the next time you want to point the finger at somebody and blame them for a problem in your life, take that finger and point it back at you.”

Maybe the next time you try to make peace, Madge, you make it for more than 45 minutes.
