Survey: 13% Of Adults Have Already Given Into The Christmas Creep

It’s July 23. Have you begun your holiday shopping yet? According to a new survey, it’s likely that more than 1 out of every 8 of you is answering yes to that question.

Yes, as we’ve reported for years, this is about the time of year when the Christmas Creep rears his ugly head, attempting to lure bargain-hunters in with inventory-clearing sales not just on gifts, but on artificial trees, wreaths, lights and decorations.

According to the survey by Harris Interactive, 13% of U.S. adults have bought at least one gift. Of those, nearly 20% say they have bought most of their gifts already or are already done.

24% of families with young children say they have already gotten a start on their holiday buying blitz. Because we all know that children are anything but fickle when it comes to what they want for Christmas.
