Dunkin' Donuts Breaks Up With Pepsi To Go Steady With Coke

If your world actually does run on Dunkin’, you may notice a bit of a change at your local chain. The company announced Monday that they’re switching from offering PepsiCo products to Coca-Cola in all Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins in the U.S.

Reuters reports on the switchover to Coke juices, soft drinks, enhanced waters and energy drinks by August in more than 9,400 Dunkins. No financial terms of the deal were disclosed, but it’s got to be a coup for Coke to swipe one of its biggest rival’s customers away.

But despite getting dumped by Dunkin’, Pepsi is saying goodbye with no hard feelings, it seems.

“Dunkin’ Donuts has been a valued partner of PepsiCo over the last five years and we’ve enjoyed being part of its success,” PepsiCo said in a statement.

Dunkin’ Donuts announced earlier this year that it would be opening additional stores across the country, and has been working hard on its image in other countries like China to boost business.

It’s not always Coke’s crown to take in the never-ending tug-of-war between the companies — last year Papa John’s switched from Coke to Pepsi, so the pendulum swings both ways.
