Yahoo To Add "Do Not Track" Feature To Sites

Days after the Federal Trade Commission called on companies and lawmakers to beef up online privacy measures, the folks at Yahoo have announced they will be adding a “do not track” feature to its array of websites.

The feature, which will be integrated into the headers of Yahoo sites by early summer, will “provide a simple step for consumers to express their ad targeting preferences to Yahoo,” writes the company.

The Yahoo feature will be in addition to do-not-track measures already integrated into Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari. Google is expected to add this type of feature into its Chrome browser.
